Welcome! I'm Gina Carlson, a registered dietitian and yoga instructor dedicated to helping you achieve a balanced lifestyle. My mission is to educate and empower you to navigate nutrition and lifestyle choices with confidence and ease. I believe that making healthy decisions should feel realistic and achievable, reducing mental load and making everyday life smoother. 


With my guidance, you'll learn how to: 


- Simplify meal planning and grocery shopping. 

- Build sustainable habits that last. 

- Pivot gracefully when life throws you curveballs. 


My philosophy is simple: Progress over perfection. Life is full of variables, and it's about finding what works for you, not adhering to rigid rules.

About Gina Carlson

I am the founder of Root & Rise Wellness, a registered dietitian and yoga instructor dedicated to helping people simplify their wellness journeys. Since 2007, I have been guiding individuals towards a balanced lifestyle by focusing on practical strategies for nutrition, meal planning, and sustainable habits.  


My Background  

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics and completed my dietetic internship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. My career began as a nutrition program manager, where I oversaw the Meals on Wheels program and even hosted my own public access TV show in the early 2000s to educate the community on nutrition.  


After this, I transitioned to working as a long-term care dietitian and later became a hospice dietitian. During my time as a long-term care dietitian, I also became a certified yoga instructor, blending my passion for nutrition and movement to help others achieve holistic wellness.
